The storage facility based on Chancellors Road will house a new multi-purpose distribution centre, corporate headquarters and vehicle management and recycling areas, the company said.

The redevelopment plan will nearly double the company’s capacity, enabling its “continuous vision of growth, [and to] improve its efficiency and investments” both at company and local area level.

The company emphasized that the new facility will store its ambient, chilled, chilled and frozen products.

“Over the past few years, we have experienced steady growth, and this investment in the new multi-purpose site is intended to further facilitate that growth and provide our employees with a better and more efficient working environment. way of working across the company,” said Michael Skelton, Managing Director of S&W Wholesale.

According to the wholesaler, the site will become more environmentally friendly, with the introduction of solar panels, electric car charging stations and waste reduction methods, which will reduce S&W’s carbon footprint for the future. .

“We are committed to strengthening our footprint in the local community, with plans to strengthen our workforce by more than 250 people and work alongside local businesses and organizations to bring about real positive change in the region and beyond,” Skelton said.

Aspects of the new facility are on track, with a local architectural firm leading the cutting-edge design, the company added.
